James Elder

Image-empty-state.png

James' first residency was in 1996 at an eclectic club called Bobby McGee’s, where he received on the job training playing everything from rock, 70s disco and funk to 80s, R & B and top 40. Catering for such a diverse audience, he quickly learned how read a crowd and glide effortlessly through genres to keep the place rocking.

However, seduced by the sounds of the underground, he quickly found regular slots on the Canberra rave and club scene where he became well-known for his emotive, epic-house and progressive house sound. This eventually lead to a residency at the infamous Heaven Nightclub at a night called Positive.

James has supported acts such as Anthony Pappa, Phil K, Frontside, Sonic Animation and Andy Carroll. He has run his own nights in London, played in an abandoned monastery in Florence, held residencies in Sydney and Canberra and is likely to join the crowd on the dance floor mid set.

James has been resident on the brilliant Quarks & Quaaludes show with Shaun Strudwick for over 4 years

Join James, Shaun and special guests every 4th Saturday of the month (GMT) for an “epic house journey” like no other, on Saturo Sounds!
